What is Forest Therapy?
Forest Therapy is a practice that supports health and wellness through guided immersion in forests and other environments to promote the well-being of both people and the land. It is inspired by Shinrin-yoku, the Japanese practice of “Forest Bathing.” In Forest Bathing, people spend time in forested areas to enhance health, wellness, and happiness.
In Forest Therapy, people are guided through a clearly defined sequence of invitations to slow down, allow the senses to open, and experience the environment to deepen the reciprocal relationship between participants and the forest. This supports the wholeness and well-being of both. These Slow Walks in the Forest are typically one half - 1 mile long and fit for all ages and physical conditions.
Invitations are open-ended. There is no expectation for what participants should experience or receive. Rather, participants spend time in silence, listening and feeling with a quiet and accepting presence. They become reconnected with their senses and their innate creative potential is tapped, which allows the imagination to awaken.
Why Forest Therapy
Forest Therapy promotes:
Unshaming Ourselves
Unshaming along the remothering journey;

Self-Sabotage and Self-Compassion
(including: how to release an unconscious contract)
Sarah Peyton
Neuroscience Educator and Author
Connecting with Sarah Peyton
Sarah Peyton, author, international constellations facilitator, Certified Trainer of Nonviolent Communication and neuroscience educator, integrates constellations, brain science and the use of resonant language to heal trauma.
She works with audiences internationally to create a compassionate understanding of the effects of relational trauma on the brain, and teaches people how words change and heal us.
Sarah speaks about both the personal and the systemic forces that lead to traumatization, including racism, patriarchy, gender oppression, capitalism and colonialism.
Sarah is a sought-after expert who brings neuroscience expertise to conversations about power, including how human brains respond to power differentials and microaggressions, the social trauma that can result, and how to use resonant healing to support people in restoring dignity and reclaiming their full power.
Sarah’s first book, "Your Resonant Self: Guided Meditations and Exercises to Engage Your Brain’s Capacity for Healing", is focused on the way our automatic brain patterning is impacted by trauma and provides ways to transform our tendencies toward self-criticism into self-warmth through resonant language.
Sarah's second book, "Your Resonant Self Workbook: From Self-sabotage to Self-care" deepens and augments the first book by introducing the neuroscience of unconscious contracts: those agreements we make as children to keep us safe, which often result in harmful adult behaviors like self-criticism, lack of trust or capacity for intimacy, or self-sabotage.
The third installment in Sarah's resonance series, released in Winter 2021, is titled "Affirmations for Turbulent Times: Resonant Words to Soothe Body and Mind." Each book in the resonance series uses a different approach to help make brains a good place to live.

Juliane Taylor Shore (Jules)
Juliane Taylor Shore, LMFT, LPC, SEP
Loves helping people work with their brains to have a life that fits them well.
Connecting with Jules
Hi I’m Juliane Taylor Shore, LMFT, LPC, SEP (but that’s way too long, so people call me Jules).
I use my knowledge of the brain and the implicit mind to go decisively to the root of the issue with gentleness and depth. I want to help you find the love and connection and grace you have always longed for.
I am on a journey to help myself and others have good boundaries.
Having good boundaries helps us develop deep and resilient relationships with ourselves, with people we love, and with reality. I became a therapist because I stumbled into a therapist's office when I was in a hard space, fought with him for several months over whether or not feelings are important (I argued they were not), and found myself at the other end transformed.

Remothering Thought Leader, Simona Vivi H is the founder of reMothering.org and produces the reMothering Masterclass & reMothering Summit.
Simona also has a private coaching practice at The Center for Remothering.
Connecting with Simona Vivi H
Hi, I'm Simona. Daughter-healing has been my life's work. For too long, to the best of my ability, I tried to be the daughter my mother needed me to be so she wouldn't be criticized by her mother. Though dysfunctional, and not a path I would recommend, that dynamic offered many rich life learnings.
My zig-zag path has taken me from 'good girl' (fixer, achievement-for-love, over-caretaking) to breaking free from outdated programming, mastering faster access to my inner wisdom, and thriving forward with a powerful sense of internal alignment.
Having traveled a more arduous (and a lot messier!) route to come home to myself than I would have preferred, I think of the work we do at reMothering.org & at the Center for Remothering as putting up trail markers to ease the path for the next travelers.
